Create Rule Groups

Creating a rule group?

Step 1: Navigate to Rule Engine

Go to Rule Engine ➝ Click on "Manage All Rule Groups" (Top Right Corner).

Step 2: Click on “Add New Rule Group" button.

Step 3: Fill Rule Group Details

The creation process will require you to fill in the following fields:

  • Rule Group Name: A unique and descriptive name (e.g., “Credit Card Rewards” or “Domestic Flight Booking Reward”).

  • Add Limits and Restrictions:Specify any restrictions or conditions that should be applied to the rule group.

    • Product Code: Enter the product code from drop down menu.

    • Sub-product Code: Select a specific category (e.g., PlatinumCard, PersonalLoan or can be numbers based on business requirement).
    • Date Range/Validity: Specify the Start & End Date (e.g., 01-Jan-2025 to 31-Dec-2025).

    You can also take Lifetime as the date range.

  • Max Points: Set the maximum points that can be awarded per month or lifetime. Lastly, click on "Create Group".

What are the available restrictions in a rule group?

A rule group allows the organization of transactional data by applying restrictions to pass only certain specific data for processing. These restrictions can be based on the following criteria:

  1. Product Code: The rule group can be configured to filter transactions based on the product code associated with each transaction. This ensures that only transactions related to a particular product are included.
  2. Sub-product code: By specifying a sub-product code, the rule group can filter out transaction data that do not fall under the specified sub-product category.
  3. Date Range (Validity): This is the age of the rule group till which it is valid. This can be used for running time-limited campaigns on occasion. If left empty, the rule group will always be valid.
  4. Max Points: Additionally, the rule group can enforce a maximum points threshold a member can earn through that rule group.

What are the maximum points in a rule group?

The rule group has the ability to set a maximum points threshold for members. This threshold limits the number of points that a member can earn through the rule group. There are two options available for setting this maximum points threshold:

  1. Monthly: With this option, the maximum points that a member can earn through the rule group are calculated on a monthly basis. Once the member reaches this maximum threshold within a month, they will no longer be able to earn any more points through the rule group until the start of the next month.
  2. Lifetime: Alternatively, the maximum points threshold can be set on a lifetime basis. This means that once a member reaches the maximum threshold, they will no longer be able to earn any more points through the rule group for the entire duration of their membership.

These options provide flexibility in managing the points earned by members and allow for control over the maximum number of points that can be accumulated through the rule group.

By utilizing these criteria, a rule group provides a flexible and customizable way to organize transactional data based on specific restrictions. This ensures that only the desired information is passed through for further analysis or processing.
